Add Users in Your Messaging Web App
In this second part of the series on creating a Messaging app, you’ll learn how to create a list of Contacts because having a Messaging app without contacts is not too useful. So in this video, I’ll show you how to create a Contact list which will has three parts to it:
1) Add Users already in the app
As with any communication or social network type of app, the power of the app goes up exponentially with the number of users signed-up with the app. For this Messaging app, you’ll see how to implement a search function for people with an account already. If your Contact already has an account in the app, they will be added to your Contact list.
2) Invite Users who are not in the app
For contacts not already using the app, you’ll learn how to invite your Contacts to signup in the app. The Bubble “Send email” action will be used to accomplish this.
3) View your list of Contacts
A Repeating Group is used to show your list of Contacts. Additionally, you have the ability to remove a person from your Contact list.
If case you missed them, you can see the first video here or Part 1 of the Messaging app series. Now that the login and Contact functions have been created, we can turn our attention to creating the actual Messaging portion of the app. In the next post, you’ll learn how to do exactly that.
